You just got inspected and received an 80.5 rating. How disgusting is that??
Patchanka is a gem! Outstanding food, reasonable prices and excellent service. We tried them based on a random search for restaurants near our air bnb and were astonished at how good the food was. Try the Argentine Cabernet Sauvignon and be impressed at the quality. Worth going out of your way to visit and easy to reach by Metro.
We have been fans of No 1 Bent Street so were devastated as we planned our recent visit to Sydney to discover it is no more. However Chef Mike McEnearney has risen like the Phoenix to evolve into a place for Everyman. During the day he offers breakfast and lunch with an egalitarian approach that appeals to all. However if you are a true foodie then join Mike and his team for dinner when the restaurant evolves into something really special. The atmosphere is simple and cosy yet can cater for big groups. The staff are exemplary in providing service above and beyond and then there is the blackboard that offers regular seasonal dishes that showcase all that is good about Australia. The sour dough bread is rustic and moorish. We had the ash baked eggplant with miso, tahini sauce and shaved bonito. We followed this with whole baked cauliflower along with the spit roasted chicken with preserved lemons. We finished off with the apple tart with chantilly cream. Every part of the meal was exceptional and delicious. What really made the evening an experience was to sit at the bar, watching chefs ply their craft with flair and little fuss. This is a kitchen that work with a flair mixed with zen like calmness. If you’re looking for an exceptional evening with terrific food and and a great experience then this is the place for you. Make sure you say hi to Mike!
We just had brunch this morning. Our food took an hour to come out. (not exaggerating)
I understand they were busy but no manager came by to talk to us or acknowledge. Is there even a manager working? Once our food came it wasn’t all at once. There were six of us..one entree came out...few minutes later another entree came...and so on.
Server was nice but our experience was disappointing. My sister and husband told us how amazing Fork was but I’m sure we won’t be going back.
I would have said something at the restaurant but didn’t want to make a scene and I honestly don’t think they have a front of house manager.
My wife and I were impressed with the decor. Very nice but the food was terrible. My wife ordered 1/2 chicken. No sauce no taste. I ordered sea bass. Very tasty but served with some diced root. I was totally taken back. Presentation was beyond words. Neither meal was acceptable. I don't usually complain but our meal was beyond words. We asked our server about each dish she raved. Sad. At loss what happened
Probably the best local restaurant we eat at on a regular basis. Intimate and relaxed setting. Never had a bad meal to go along with the great prices.
Great restaurant! Getting a gift certificate on the website, however, was impossible. Maybe because of our out of town phone number? I’d recommend fixing this snag in the gift certificate process to make it as enjoyable as the restaurant.
Terrible service. I mean I really wouldn’t come here. I only had Apple Pay (a perfectly fine means of payment) and they didn’t accept it. I got my card number, but they didn’t accept that either. So for 22 euro, they called the police on a solo female traveler. Avoid.
ALWAYS A HIT. We live locally and frequent FORK. Tim's food is always a hit. The service is attentive. Gluten Free options. Lamb shank is my go-to dish. They always have excellent wines at fair prices. Welcoming, tasty dining experience.
The food & atmosphere were fine. Limited menu, but food is good. When there are a few people it does get loud. One subject matter they must address is their walk way from the parking lot! I was there last Saturday nite & my husband drove up ( due to the cold weather) and I fell on my face in the drive way. What was missing were lights or a handrail to guide people down the walkway!! I was unaware that the retaining wall was so high & tripped over the wall! I was lucky I did not break my wrist or ribs! That area should & must be marked so customers are aware of the retaining wall before someone gets seriously hurt. Both lights & hand rails should be there. Also they should check their parking lot- there was broken glass all over the place!!!
I have enjoyed Tim Groody's expertise as a chef in the Charlotte area for 20+ years. I have always felt he is among the very best chefs I have experienced anywhere. His inventiveness, presentation, pairings and flavors are second to none. We had the pleasure of dining at Fork this past TUE, for a Neyers wine dinner and the entire evening, from beginning to end, was exceptional.
Tim, Meanie and their entire staff did a wonderful job and we look forward to dining again there soon!
Started at the bar while we waited for our table (showed up a little early.) the Smoke Cherry Porter sounded great - and would have been if it was cold. Ordered Cheese plate and Dumplings; as bad as it sounds, the only way I can describe the cheese plate was amateur at best! Soggy toast points, stale cracker-like things, no house made pickles and the cheese cheese portion was laughable! The Hickory Smoked Dumplings seemed confused- not sure what flavor the chef was going for; the soy pearls combined with hickory smoke was odd. Wife ordered Scallops- really good as was the Caramelized Cauliflower, Goat Cheese Mac was OK-needed salt. I ordered the Salmon. I pointed out to my server that the bottom of the salmon was charred beyond the point consumption and she kindly explained to me how is was meant to cooked and walked away! Lobster mac and Cheese was good. The kicker- the simplest thing for a server to do (in my opinion) is to refill a water glass. Started with a glass full of ice and as she continued to refill the glass (3 times) the ice disappeared, never to return? At no point did she think to bring more ice, so...the last glass was really just room temp water. Not the best experience I have had of recent. Not sure that I would return, doubtful that I would recommend.
The food is AWESOME... The Macaroni and Cheese is the best I've every had. Lamb Shank is incredible and the service is just as amazing. I will definitely be back. A jewel to Cornelius!!!!
My husband, Fred, and I enjoyed an amazing Easter Sunday Brunch today, prepared by the talented Tim Groody. Our server, Matt, delivered marvelous service and even laughed at my corny jokes about the " Green eggs and Ham". Fred's steak was Fork tender ( another corny joke) and the accompanying hash browns were crispy and just the right amount of seasoning. My "green eggs" were poached and served over locally sourced greens and topped with a mixture of hollandise and pesto with toasted English muffins. The grits were creamy, grainy and perfect!!! Two Bloody Marys and a couple craft beers and we were happy campers! Can't wait for next rip to Fork!
Fork is the "go to" restaurant for my husband and me. The food is extremely fresh and the menu is fun and delicious. I have always had incredible service. I recommend Fork to anyone in the area looking for a great dining experience.
I have eaten here many times and the food had been consistently excellent and the service good until this morning when I was honestly embarrassed by the service I received while bringing out of town friends in for brunch. We arrived at 11:00 and were told there was a 20 minute wait which was fine despite the fact that there were 7 empty tables in view from the waiting area and all tables but one free on the porch. We were told they were reserved; however, no one filled these tables the 30 minutes we stood waiting. We were then told our table was ready and directed out front to a table which had been empty the entire time we waited! In what scenario would a person need to wait 30 minutes for a table that is free and available the entire time? In fact, all of the tables except two were still empty despite an ongoing wait time. The diners sat before us (who had also been waiting and confused) were also sat at a table that had been free the entire time! We then asked if we were gong to be sat an an existing empty table if we could sit inside and were told we would have to make a reservation for 12:30 (almost an hour in the future) to sit inside. We obviously left and went elsewhere.
Simply exquisite! Just moved to the area and couldn't me happier to find such a great, unique restaurant.
Wonderful brunch! Great food and outdoor patio! Highly recommend!
Had the Scottish salmon and risotto. First time there and it was really great.

The salmon was delicious, seasoned just right.
